boulderjoe 0 Posted May 21, 2008 What do you think? Is there too much vegetation around the edges making it cluttered. Thanks, -Joe Link to comment
WJT 653 Posted May 21, 2008 Hi Joe, I recognized this because I was there last year. I appreciate your location when you took this; it is a little difficult moving around all the rocks, especially when they are wet. As far as your question, it's hard to say. I think for a monochrome treatment (or sepia) it might tend to be a little busy. Without the color to help differentiate the details they tend to crowd into one another. This was pointed out to me once in one of my own B&W IR shots of some falls in Michigan. It was a nice photograph but looked a little busy. I think if your were to bring up the level in the shadows nearest the young man and dog so that the eye would be more strongly drawn to them that you could then compensate for all the veggies. I like your overall composition. For a comparison, here is my take on this subject from last year. Regards. Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted May 21, 2008 Hi Joe, Actually, I like the shot.....Now since you ask, here's some things I feel could be improvements......(1) clone out the dog and the white object between it and the person, the dead small trees on the right, and all the dead tree limbs and the black triangle in the lower right corner.......(2) try to lower the contrast to lighten the shadows but mostly to darken the water to get a little more detail in it...... That is about it, really not much different than what I would be doing to my own photos........Jim Link to comment
