mpitak 0 Posted May 20, 2008 Well, you overdone it...doesn't looks natural. If you are using Photomatix or something like that play a bit with strength, saturation and luminosity. This one is too shiny and looks a bit like crayon drawing....remember that reasonable output is a just a beginning of whole story. Post process it! You will be amazed. Even from ordinary pictures you can get something nice if you are patient enough. Avoid noise, play a bit with color softness and saturation. Play with brightness and contrast in different parts of your picture as well. Do not oversaturate your pictures...HDR is to improve your photo, not to make it unreal :). I did the same mistakes before, so take it easy. Greets/ Link to comment
havanamojitophotography 0 Posted May 21, 2008 EXCELLENT......the other people commenting on your photo obviously do not know what HDR is about and this is it.....other then the corners it;s perfect.....HDR is not supposed to look real....it can, but I like when it looks like a painting or cartoonish.....excellent work Link to comment
ilanweiss 0 Posted May 24, 2008 I agree, it looks realy nice, doesn't need to look real, beautiful is enough Link to comment
clayton_m 4 Posted December 13, 2008 I think this is fine as a "digital alteration", assuming that was your intention. If this was intended to look natural, then I agree with the other commentors. I believe the vignetting is a distraction though. I would crop or clone it out. Best regards, -Clayton Link to comment
athanasia1 0 Posted January 6, 2009 I showed this to a few colleagues at work and all of them refused to believe it was a photograph, insisting it had to be a painting. Absolutely stunning, I have never seen anything like it. There are far too many images around today that try to be artistic or replicate nature, this is pure and simple love of one's own art. It is art. It is beautiful! Link to comment
bill_sharp3 0 Posted July 3, 2009 Of course it's not 'natural.' Recording reality is the point of crime scene photography and not much else. This is great. It transforms a fairly mundane reality into something amazing, and beautiful. Link to comment
rene_tanaja 0 Posted July 16, 2009 Yes, it doesn't look real. But who cares? Beautiful composition, amazing colour. Looks like something Normal Rockwell would have painted if he did shore paintings. HDR can be made to look realistic (usually) or it can be made to look beyond realistic. Either way, if done well, the results are incredible, like this picture. I agree, though, that those dark corners need to be edited out one way or another. Otherwise, incredible work! Outstanding job!!! Link to comment
sara_schmidt 0 Posted September 3, 2009 I love this image. Been shooting empty benches for a long time. I do not know any thing about HDR, but would love to learn. I love the feel you have created here. Relaxed, and a bit surrealSara Link to comment
garethmaybury 0 Posted September 15, 2009 No it doesn't look real, but that's part of what makes it so interesting. Very nice pic. Link to comment
tetradis 0 Posted November 18, 2009 It is interesting because it does not look real.Otherwise it would be rather boring.Bravo. Link to comment
