cherlyn 1 Posted May 19, 2008 Thanks Joseph for your dedication. I was away for a few days so only got chance to see this now. Expertly placed against a dark bg & I would also take this the way you did. Lovely bird. Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted May 19, 2008 A very powerful and effective portrait, Joseph. Hard to get something like this all in perfect focus, but the most important area is the eye which is well handled. I sense that you are close to the subject, so a narrower aperture may not have worked to make the tip of the beak sharper. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 19, 2008 Beautiful work, Joseph. Such warmth and majesty. It's really a grand photo. I happen to like the softness of the curvature of the beak. To me, that's more sensual than had it all been sharp. Link to comment

joe-tury 0 Posted May 23, 2008 Vamsi: About as straight out of the camera as I usually get. Ha! I darkened the BG, sharpened, and cropped about 20%. Thanks!Oliver: He would be pleased at your comment. Thanks!Jose: Thanks!R. Rivera: Thank you.Paula: Thanks for stopping by so often!Glauco: Appreciate that!Cherlyn: Glad you approve! I've attempted to copy some of your technique. You've taught me well :o)Roger: Well, here was the challenge. It was indoors and out of respect for the birds I didn't use flash. I was using a monopod so I couldn't use too fast of a shutter speed and thought I should use a large aperture. When I looked at the image on my lcd, I missed the tip . The rest seemed pretty sharp. I really probably should have tried to increase the dof :o( Thanks!Fred: I would have to say that most people would prefer the beak to be sharper, and I tend to agree. However, your observations let me consider other possibilities . Your latest image proves that your technique can work very well. Love how you think outside the box. Thank you!Pnina: Lol. I agree with you. Thank you so much!Vicente: Thank you my friend. I like how you say he is defiant.Sheryl: Ha! Thanks!Chaba: Thank you!Halina: Thanks for commenting!Ozhan: Thanks for looking. !!
