I edited this photo in Digital Photo Professional, lowered the

brightness and brought the contrast up slightly. And cropped it. What

do you think ?

Ronda, welcome to photo.net. I think you've done quite a good job with your adjustments. The exposure seems about right and I like the strong blue sky behind the green and white. You've also captured some nice detail in the blossoms. I think I might have moved in closer or used more zoom and a wider aperture to throw the background more out of focus. As it is it's a little busy and I would like to see the foreground blossoms stand out more. You might also try shooting this in more overcast conditions or later in the day when the sun isn't shining on the blossoms. That will reduce shadows and give you more subtle and even tones. You might also think about using a 500D close-up filter which works very nicely with that great lens.

Hello Ronda. Hanna has fairly well said what I was going to say as soon as I saw this image. We often make the mistake of trying to cram in too much. Often less is much better. One other little trick is if you wish to simulate early morning dew use a mister to produce a drop or two on the petals. This can often add a little glamour to your image. Cheers.

No matter how simple these blossom photos look I have experienced that it is damn difficult to get what you want! Here you have got you wanted Ronda!

What did Mick Jagger say. You can't always get what you want, but if you try real hard you may get what you need. Yes, I do very much understand that often what we see and feel is very difficult to convey in our photograph. But here in is the joy, when we succeed in doing so. And when we have we know.
