bob_fatone 0 Posted February 19, 2001 Lovely. . . I have'nt seen the tri-color technique used as effectively in many years. and. . . not only technically well executed but very pleasing and to some, perhaps perplexing as to how this photograph was created. . . pleasing all the way around. rick_phung2 0 Posted February 28, 2001 This is a great shot - I love it. Maybe it is just me but that cloud in the top-right quadrant resembles a human face looking down at the dome! At first I thought this was a special effects shot, done with post-process, etc. Anyone else see it? Link to comment
neal_charness 0 Posted March 11, 2001 I LOVE the image, except for the telescope bldg/planetarium. IMHO the building doesn't add to the image plus there's distortion (I presume because of the 20mm lens). This would work great with just the clouds and landscape elements. Link to comment
scott_eaton 0 Posted March 29, 2001 I'm not sure if a ND grad filter was used, or this is simply a case of a sloppy dodge and burn, but the top 3rd darker portion of the print looks tacky and too manipulated. Otherwise, a neat composition and great color. If you can fix the top part of the print and have it match the density of the rest of the print, it would really look better. Link to comment
olympus fan 0 Posted April 4, 2001 You could sell this to Sky and Telescope or Astronomy Magazine. This calibre of shot equals or surpases their normally great shots. Link to comment
tom_menegatos 0 Posted May 17, 2001 I like it. Nice composition. The sky looks incredible too. Link to comment
thefourthwall 0 Posted June 6, 2001 Beautiful composition -- the buildings served as an anchor, for me, to give balance and scale to the sky. Have heard of "tri-color technique" but am not familiar with it -- how is this done? Fantastic photograph. Link to comment
jk 0 Posted June 6, 2001 Fantastic colour, but a big shame that we can't enjoy this lovely shot in larger size :-) Jan Link to comment
daniel_rios 0 Posted June 9, 2001 i thought it was a face looking down on the scene when viewed small. i do love the shot though, great use of colour and ultra 50. Link to comment
andy_kidd 0 Posted June 20, 2001 I'm telling you, Gian... you have GOT to be more careful when you're out harvesting those wild mushrooms! Better yet, do us ALL a favor and don't take any chances- NO mushrooms within 24 hours of when you're going to play around with photoshop on your pictures. [LOL- just joking... FANTASTIC IMAGE!!!!!!!] Link to comment
patrick_wilson 0 Posted June 25, 2001 I like the buildings, I think it gives depth and perspective to the photograph - without them, it would be just another picture of the sky. Nice shot. Link to comment
sridhar_sambandan 0 Posted July 4, 2001 Very dramatic. At first I thought the dome was a bit of a distraction, but then again, it sets in well and provides another colour to the shot and serves as scale of measure as well. Link to comment
g1 0 Posted July 26, 2001 Incredible. Not sure the building fits though, the light isn't glowing on it as it is in the sky. Otherwise - fantastic!! Link to comment
patrik_skolling_m_ller 0 Posted August 16, 2001 I like your picture and I wonder weather the picture is manipulated or not? You don´t tell. I also see the face looking down, cool ! /patrik Link to comment
john_parrino 0 Posted September 13, 2001 It appears that there is a face in one of the clouds.... Maybe God's Link to comment
taras_kirichenko 0 Posted September 19, 2001 Looks nice. Did you alter cloud colors ? Link to comment
mg 0 Posted February 10, 2002 I agree with comments made by JM and Geraldine. You did as well as it can be done. Don't change a thing. Link to comment
thierry_lombry 0 Posted January 17, 2003 As amateur astronomer I have gathered a large collection of astronomical pictures but up to now I have never seen so contrasted natural colors. Congratulations. Link to comment
