I like the close intimate feel of this portrait, but there are a few things I would recommend to make it better...I'm not a big fan of how you cropped it...maybe show a bit more of the child's forehead/hair...I realize this is just a nit and some may like it this way. I like the B&W feel but consider bumping up the contrast a bit...and also just a bit more fill lighting would be nice. Overall a nice aesthetically pleasing image.
