dseltzer 0 Posted May 14, 2008 ... so late to this party, but maybe better than not here at all. Most everything I've thought has been already said, and I'll just add my curiosity about the diagonal line's meaning... curious. I see what Ton means about b/w, but for me, this one draws me more in color, since the colors are muted and lend warmth. For me, it's a bit too cold in b/w, but this is an extremely minor point. I'm not only having fun looking at the image, but also imagining you patiently waiting with camera for just the right people to reach just the right spot. This would have been a great time for another photographer to have been there shooting you while you waited and found your desired shot. And I must confess to a bit of envy, too, for having the time to wait for the right people. In my current world, such stretches of time are seldom available. But that just makes your shot all the more fun and enjoyable for me. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 14, 2008 Ton, you are always biased toward B/W.... David, the slight diagonal is adding compositionwise, it is my gut feelinghere, and the points I have chosen to stand, also there is a diagonal inside the icons.... so it worked well for me. Thanks for your evaluation, always glad to read your impressions. Margaret, thank you as well, I'm glad you liked it. It was funny icons to begin with. Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Pnina, I didn't write very clearly. I understand and like the slight diagonal made by the shadow in the upper frame. No, what I was asking about is the diagonal line in the street icons... just wondering what it means. :) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 14, 2008 Thanks for explaining it, I realy don't know what they mean, but I liked the funny icons, very unusual in their form. I think that after retirement, you will have all the time to work more with photography, David...;-)), I worked for years with my art , but much more so after retirement., when you have more time to invest in it. paula grenside 0 Posted May 15, 2008 The first zebra crossing of this kind I have seen, Pnina. The different directions and the fact that the walking figures and the icons are slightly blurred just like it happens when you shoot motion pics make this image original ( and well seen as usual). maria_di_liegro 0 Posted November 15, 2008 Pnina, nice framing on this, and this is great in b/w because it's so graphic. Link to comment
