John Peri 1,039 Posted May 17, 2008 Just a fraction more focus on the eyes needed maybe Jerry, but you certainly caught the charm once again .. and that is what it's all about. Delightful. Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted June 4, 2008 Well John, Thanks for your input but I guess I have to disagree. The eyes are tack sharp (see closeup), but this picture was taken for a Make Up Artist, for her portfolio, Because the MUA did so much work on the face, the 3-layers of paint there react differently to light than does the rest of the body's skin. I believe it is that difference you are reacting to. By the way, I cannot figure out how to deal with this problem, except to give the MUAs tight facial close ups. If anyone wants to offer me advice I would gladly receive it. It was taken just before sundown and I had to use a little flash fill (see the double shadow of her arm) and could not balance the lighting for her body with her face and still retain the highlight in her eyes. jerrymat 5 Posted June 17, 2008 I got kicked off the beach for this one! The model is 23 but wants to specialize in looking like a teen. We were on a county bathing beach, a MUA was administering makeup and someone phoned the police and complained. Deputy Sheriff said we had to leave, even though we were violating no laws. I wanted to refuse, but the model and MUA caved in. Link to comment
curtis_richter 0 Posted June 17, 2008 Great shot Jerry - she does give it the right feel, and I enjoy the framing and light - the MUA did a great job IMHO. Sorry to hear about getting kicked off, but sometimes it's wise to lose the battle but win the war. Link to comment

mean_girl 0 Posted December 2, 2009 I can definately see where the provocative nature that oozes from the festering wound of this piece would result in you being evicted from a public place. Belly buttons should only be seen in the bedroom and even then from the safety of a twin bed on the other side! You should be a shamed of yourself! Link to comment
chefbill57 0 Posted May 10, 2013 Great Job Jerry. Nothing to be ashamed of here. Nice skin tones, Good lighting and interesting. Maybe not my favorite of all your portraits but that's a lot to live up to. Link to comment
