I love this photo for their expression and the feeling that there is a story here. I think you may have been able to go to the next f-stop to keep the sister on the right completely in focus without making the background sharp. In terms of composition, because the girl on the left is lighter, there's more of her in the shot and the background tends to lean in her direction, your eye seems to be pushed towards her. I'm not really sure how to change the composition except by a change of position of the girl on the right, perhaps closer, or higher in the frame. Much of this is nit-picking, because I do think its a great shot.

the subjects look good expression-wise, however i don't like the empty space right in the middle of the frame.

This image is to perfect. The lighting and composition is great. Its almost as if they were not expecting the shot.

Am I right if I think this photo has been taken in evening light? With portraiting one has only one chance of taking the picture at the right moment. This seems the right moment.
