Maybe some use of artificial light on the hand would hve allowed you to darken the background a little more.

interesting image. why? because you have portrayed your subject's character and lifestyle well, and in a creative and artistic way. Reminds me of that saying "life imitates art". But in this pic, art also imitates life and thats another interesting part about this image. DoF works perfectly here however I would probably crop a little less not so much for the top of the head but for the shoulders and arms. well done Tiffany this is a great image
