stephenoachs 0 Posted September 4, 2008 I just won 1st place for this image in Popular Photography Magazine. It is now in the September 2008 issue. Not so much a C&C but just a "share" post. Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted September 5, 2008 Congrats on the win in PP. I can certainly see why. Beautiful image all the way around. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
raybrizzi 0 Posted September 5, 2008 Yeah, yeah, big deal. So you got in a magazine. All you had to do was figure out the time when the sunset would be right with just enough light to brighten the water, hang your tripod over the side, and push the button. I would have done it but I had to work that day. Link to comment
danielsimionescu 0 Posted December 28, 2009 Not only that you need some patience to wait for the sun to rise right in that point, but you need some skills to get the right exposure. So, I would love to "hang the tripod over the side" and take a shot like this one. Congrats! Link to comment
kerry_grim 2 Posted December 28, 2009 I've seen many photos of this, but this is the best one I have seen. Dunno what Ray's problem is. Maybe he could have taken a similar picture. But, he wasn't there. You were and you put the effort into it. Excellent photo. I do wish you would share some details. What lens did you use? did you use a graduated neutral density filter. obi-wan-yj 0 Posted December 28, 2009 Go easy on Ray. To me, his post sounds like it's dripping with sarcasm, and not honestly trying to dismiss Stephen's wonderful photo. I'd also love to know which lens/filters were used. If I had to guess, I'd say a 2-stop GND over a 20mm (full frame equivalent) lens. How close am I? Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted December 28, 2009 I have one of these shots, so I know how difficult it is to get. Very beautiful shot....your patience paid off. And as for Ray's comment above, I also believe it was just 'tongue in cheek' and was actually intended as a back-handed compliment. At least I hope so! Nice work! Link to comment
danielprawica 0 Posted December 29, 2009 Beautiful work; did you use a little of HDRi magic on this? Lovely meander :) Link to comment
art-futuro 0 Posted February 6, 2010 Distinctive pattern - horseshoe. Beautifully. It is interesting to bring good luck when hung on the wall. Link to comment
