spenaloza 1 Posted April 26, 2008 Very nice shot, good details and effects with the cross filter, well done, I wish I could see more of the floor on the right side. Felicidades //Salvador Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted May 1, 2008 ... very nice job, Rick. Excellent detailing throughout and technically well done. I like the hint of light on the wall below the rose window, that would have been something to explore. Link to comment
RickDB 10 Posted May 8, 2008 ...thanks for dropping by to comment. I am not altogether happy with this, I found it very difficult to adjust the tone mapping for a convincing picture - it looks a tad muddy, but so far it the best I could manage. Salvador, the star-bursts are an artifact of the lens, they can be a bit distracting at times, I really don't like the one from the out of shot light on the LHS. Dennis, the rose window is really quite a marvel of engineering, the one at the south end was being restored. Cheers, RickDB Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted May 8, 2008 ... but maybe a tad flat. If I were working it, I would pick one central element and process toward making that. In this case, you have all these wonderful light sources, the bright pinpoints of the electrical fixtures, the great window, the stained glass to the right ... but you also have that wonderful light coming from outside (?) at the center of the shot on the back wall, with its long shadow across the floor. Personally, I would lower the luminance considerably and see if I could isolate that a bit, bring it out against the back wall and the floor, and then take that vertical highlight on the column up inevitably to the rose window. I don't think you'd lose anything and certainly would gain in the drama category. Just a thought. Link to comment
RickDB 10 Posted May 9, 2008 ...thanks for the suggestions, I played around with this a little and I think your ideas will help. I'll post the reworked image soon. Cheers, Rick Link to comment
