godfather 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Colour combination looks very odd, like also how you used the title vs. pic. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 26, 2008 Well seen Laurent, the human walking figure is a real bonus in the composition.Good timing! Link to comment
peter.blum 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Hello Laurent-Paul, Great visual snack. Lines, colors, shapes, make this really interesting. I thing you also cropped it well. A tight cropping with no disturbing visual elements. And the man on the lower left, tops it off. Just thte right timing. Very well done. Congrats. And have a nice weekend... tonmestrom 4 Posted April 27, 2008 it's a statement as much as a photo (and a very good one at that). On the run in (or rather from) an increasingly technocratic world? The overwhelming size of that building set against the diminutive size of that man set against the edge of your frame works wonders here while those attractive complementary colours are symbolic of the seductive powers to which we are all exposed. loic brohard 0 Posted April 29, 2008 Great composition. Intriguing building though, I guess they are doing some works/refurbishment inside ? Well done, Loic Link to comment
laurent-paul 1 Posted May 2, 2008 Thank a lot for your comments. This building is one i see every day. It is a bit hidden, which is surprising for this kind of building, but the architecture is so strange that it looks really weird, even when it's not through a lense. I did try to shoot it a few timesunder different lights, but was never really happy with the results. That day, it was raining, the day just in-between day and night, and my camera was at the bottom of my coat. But when I saw the light coming from inside, which usually doesn;t happen with that strengh, with all the ceilings down, and the structure visible, sseing that the evening light was creating an extremely interesting color contrast, i rushed for the camera. This is when iIsaw the man approaching, with his coat flying all over the place with the wind. Problem, my camera was still on my funky setup for B&W/daytime, and as it is not really easy to be extremely quick to change the parat=meters, I though let's shoot like that before the man disapear,s, i tmay be an interesting B&W, and then I'll shoot with some other setting a minute later. As it turned out, this one was the most interesting in term of composition, and even if the colors trun out a bit "strange" considering the real colors, I'm actually very happy with the result ... It's always nice when the unexpected helps creating surprises after the photo has been taken. Link to comment
