desantis 0 Posted August 27, 2002 This former high school was used as a torture prison by the Kilmer Rouge during the Cambodian Genocide from 1975 to 1979. Link to comment
christian deichert 1 Posted September 11, 2002 Technically proficient, but I feel there's something missing. The mood I get from this photo is lonely or forlorn. With the history of this place, I'd hope for some sense of horror or malevolence, or at least some more clues as to the experiences of the former occupants. Link to comment
mauricio_jos__schwarz 0 Posted September 13, 2002 I, on the contrary, felt it was a powerful shot without having read your caption. Perhaps it is the darkness moving _towards_ the viewer that made it. Congratulations. Link to comment
elaine_roberts1 0 Posted September 21, 2002 A agree with Mauricio. It is subtlely disturbing, subtle enough that you are not overwhelmed by it, but enough that it still sends a shiver down the spine. Link to comment
brian_e 0 Posted September 22, 2002 nice, but I think i'd like this better symmetric and without the frame on the wall. you probably weren't in a position to perfect the composition, so nice capture anyway. Link to comment
rjacksonphoto 0 Posted July 19, 2003 I think this is well-done. Would also have made a nice B&W shot. I agree, it seems lonely and forlorn which I don't think is inappropriate for the setting-- after all of the horror and atrocities man can commit against himself, in the end it kind of leaves us empty and alone as a species.
