Blowing dust due to high winds diffused the morning sunlight to give

a soft glow to these rocks at the foot of the Eastern Sierra.

My friend, you have become the 'Maestro of the Alabama Hills'! This is a terrific composition with wonderful soft and muted lighting conditions; but tack-sharp details. I know how it is living in southern California and coping with the serious lack of clouds when we are out trying to find a 'gem' with our cameras. I love the tones and textures of this! The soft light is nice.

When I first opened this up, I thought, "This is something Chris will like." Sure enough, here he is. That's because he's got the good eye for this kind of work! Beautiful photo, dreamy colors, many levels of light to keep interest, the rocks have a special texture and this is just a great photo!
