It could afford to be a tad sharper, I suppose. Besides this, the light is good. The crop is ok too, but I tried to see it without all this forehead, and the bottom part looks very good in a square...

If this had to be a vertical shot, I'd maybe crop off at least the hair and have the chin in the frame.

Not bad at all - though maybe not the most spectacular portrait since 1900...:-) 7 / 7. Regards.

nice capture of expression which just edges out my desire to see him a bit sharper in the eye. another vote for some cropping. at least to hairline (also moves eyes from center of frame) or square with eyes near top.

Drew, apologies for waiting. It shouldn't have made any difference but it did to me. I'm a big snooker fan and the photo would have meant something totally different had it been Peter. Good photograph. I find the rectangular reflection in the left eye a bit too large and little bit distracting. Looks like a very professional job. I like the look and style of this.

No john I have reduced the levels to get the RHS of his face at an acceptable brightness. I too think that a smaller aperture (more in focus) would improve this shot.

He thinks it is interesting, but I'm not sure if he likes it.

He has no top lip and hates that, he is about to smile and talk, I pressed the shutter just before he spoke.

It is from a series of close-up shots that he wanted. He persisted in covering his mouth with his hand (to hide his top lip).

This does not meet the 'commissioned' specification; I wanted it for photo.net and me.

I would mark this at about 7/7 if it were not mine. Thanks for your comments - Drew
