floris2 0 Posted April 14, 2008 Lovely peaceful and delicate scene. The orange in the clouds in the top right is a little distracting - slight darkening or color shift to help it match the reflection better would work I think. Link to comment
harrylichtman 0 Posted April 14, 2008 Love the abstract nature of the shot. While tempting to include the clouds & land above, a pano crop which only includes the reflected clouds and S curves might also be a cool interpretation. Beautiful job with exposure. Link to comment
deans 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. Floris, I actually did darken the sky to bring out more texture in the clouds. Maybe could use some more. Harry, never thought about turning this into a pan. Thanks for the idea. Link to comment

michaelsaird 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Hi Dean - this is lovely. I wonder if a 1 or 2 stop soft ND grad over the top right would have helpd? The light is excellent, and the lead-in of the water works well. As I look at this image, I find the lead-in and colours work well, but (being harsh) there is disappointment ultimately that there's not something to focus on as the horizon is fairly bland. mikulski 0 Posted April 28, 2008 A kind of photo that I like. Beautiful, well composed and without any unnecessary digital manipulations, very natural. Congrats Link to comment
evphotography 0 Posted May 8, 2008 This is a outstanding image. I really love the compostion, the way the water starts in the foreground and leads your eye through the image with a S curve. The colors are beautiful. For perfect world improvements the only thing that distracts me is the bright areas in the sky. Since your eye naturally see's those first I think it takes away from the rest of the image. Especially that awesome reflection in the foreground, it is stunning. Like mentioned before maybe a 2 stop ND filter would have helped or I would like to see it cropped just below the horizon and take the sky out all together. The water and grass with the reflection is so powerful I don't think you even need to see the sky. Well done Dean! Link to comment
stp 6 Posted September 25, 2010 Very nice shot. In particular, I like the fact that you have most of the nearest colored clouds in the sky showing just as a reflection. I agree with what others have said about the color in the upper right -- it is a bit orange. I wouldn't use a GND filter here -- you have the right balance between sky and ground, and a GND filter, while reducing the amount of light in the clouds, would make the sky look too dark relative to the ground (IMO, of course).
