Your use of black textile, with some folds is just visible near her feet, creates intensity and highlights the shapes. I like the use of the shawl, but I am not sure about the hand protruding from her head - it looks detached on my screen, because I don't see the arm. Maybe it is just my screen! The expression and light on her hair are beautiful. Regards Lennart

You are correct, the hand should not be there. I have removed it and reposted above. The original is attached to this critique.

I like the original pose you tried, but you are right .. maybe if a little of the arm was visible too ... nevertheless, A nice composition and the expresion is good too. A classical shot, well executed Jim.

I like the dark background and the side lighting. good work. A very small detail that is so minor but the dark material covers part of her foot (at the bottom)
