zackschnepf 0 Posted April 10, 2008 A rework of one of my favorites. Believe it or not I had to desaturated this by 20 points in photoshop after the contrast adjustments. Comments appreciated. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Zack, This is the first image of yours I think I had seen, it was in b/w and had tremendously impressed me. I would say it is much more pleasure to see this in color. Very artistic, very beautiful. The contrast of the blue and yellow is amazing. It is very surprising to know that you had to reduce the saturation by 2o pts, even now it looks so correctly saturated. images_in_light_north_west 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Nice image, it conveys the depth very well, almost looks like a Giraffe skin carpet. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted April 10, 2008 Nice rework, Zack. I much prefer the B&W version in this case, however, the processing does look spot on. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted April 10, 2008 I just went and looked at the B&W version in your collection; and I'm with Mark, I think it is the more powerful and evocative of the two. This is quite good, and is incredibly compelling in its own right. Where in SW Oregon is this phenomenon found? Quite amazing. Well done! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted April 10, 2008 I'm with the others the B&W says a lot more to me but wonderful image either way. Well done! Link to comment
harrylichtman 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Zach - Has a nice abstract and surreal quality to it. A tight telephoto shot of the midground where the reflection meets tile might also be pretty cool-maybe you took one as well. Link to comment

petescheu 0 Posted April 20, 2008 The texture in the foreground really is what makes this so unique. Well done! Cheers peter Link to comment
don_lally 0 Posted April 20, 2008 I'm going to have to say i like this version better with the color. For a few reasons. It separates its self from an ordinary shot of the cracked desert ground. The patterns with the color seem to resemble a giraffe. The other reason would be that the blues in the sky, and reflection in the middle of the picture really complement the browns in the foreground. The foreground is so smooth it almost looks like a graphic. Great shot Link to comment
enunez 0 Posted April 24, 2008 I had seen the B/W previously, and I am undecided which one I like better. This is a great image! Link to comment

michael anderson 0 Posted May 2, 2008 Zack, I like both the B&W and this version. I love the title of this one- it immediately evokes thoughts of a wilderness area in Africa that a giraffe might be perfectly camoflauged in. Amazing textures. Link to comment
ricardocortes 0 Posted June 28, 2008 Un bonito paisaje, con magnificos colores.Saludos Link to comment
elisebiersma 0 Posted December 11, 2008 I like color-version more. (nice discussion... "I like this... I like that..." :) ) In B&W you do not see the reflections and you miss the contrast in colors that make this picture even more special. Link to comment
