jbm 0 Posted April 10, 2008 I have started to shoot photos on the subway...probably a bad idea as the Homeland Security boys may think I'm up to no good. Anyway, what I do is stick my camera against the window and focus on the reflected image of the passengers behind me (they are about 6 feet behind me on the train) which at f3.5 and 25mm makes the image outside the subway window roughly in focus, too (well, anything that is 6 feet plus or minus). The motion from the subway blurs the subjects we are passing and the reflections only really show up well when we pass a dark object. So I kneel on the bench and look ahead to anticipate, compose both "shots," and hope it comes out. I kind of dig these but would love to know what you all think. One last thing. I may be biased, but do use the larger view and take a minute. Cool, no? Thanks for looking. Cheers, Jay Link to comment
jbm 0 Posted April 10, 2008 Taken on the 6 train, Manhattan. Attempted to make interesting compositions out of the passengers reflected in the window behind me and the people on the platform as the train pulled in to each station. All thoughts and comments appreciated. Cheers, Jay Link to comment
