pete w 0 Posted April 9, 2008 Great work! Even the shadow of the lady adds to the photo. My Compliments, Pete Link to comment
josephmolieri 0 Posted April 9, 2008 I don't feel it is as strong an image as the others. The composition is good but not compelling. My eye is drawn to the bright window and then to the darkness underneath the table, more emphasis could be put on the woman through dodging and burning. The scene is interesting and has a lot of potential but I think the texture could be much sharper, even just by doing a little post sharpening if not closing down. It is a decent shot but I'm not convinced it is a great shot. Keep at it though! Link to comment

human images 4 Posted May 29, 2008 you show us a lovely scene here - the atmosphere, the light, invokes classical painting, recalls Rembrandt! I wonder about cropping the frame up to the left corner of the table... Eliminating the useless darkness below enrich the shot? Not entirely sure ... Regardless, the picture stands very nicely as is! My best to you Ahmet ... and please give my regards to Orhan Pamuk ;-)... Link to comment
mg 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Very strange.... Could you tell us more about the shadow on the wall, please...? I was about to say I liked the overall light in the room, but at the same time the shadow stopped me, because it looks added or manipulated in some way - as there is no corresponding highlight on the woman... What happened ? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 22, 2008 I think the single spoon tells a lot of the story here. It captures the quiet, a bit of loneliness, the solitude. It sits there like the missing partner in the story. I think it's a simple tale with heart. My eyes are drawn to her hands and face. I am not distracted by the reality around her. All the other elements speak of life and light. Link to comment
rebekah1 0 Posted October 19, 2008 I keep coming back to look at this photo which is reminiscent of a famous painting by Vermeer. The similarities include the direction of the light which is focused on the woman in this portrait, the capture of what appears to be a daily kitchen task, and the detail of the objects in the room. The difference is that your photo is more true-to-life including the empty bottles and the packed, over-flowing cupboard. Some might suggest removing some of these objects with the use of PhotoShop but then the beauty of this moment would be lost. It is best as you captured it. Congratulations on this exceptional portrait. Blessings from Rebekah B. Link to comment
