timzeipekis 5 Posted April 10, 2008 Wow!, congrats on this one........seems theres not much to add to all the well-deserved comments except that I agree with them. Well composed, beautiful color, I think you chose the perfect shutter speed....very, very well done! Link to comment

photis santamouris 23 Posted April 10, 2008 That's what Jeff says, when he hasn't got enough time to update. This is a brilliant and dramatic image. The warm low light is amazing and the the timing is spot on.There is also sth for youhere Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 10, 2008 A fine photograph, with a classic and painterly feel. The yellowish light warms an otherwise untamed scene, the waves energetic and the sky mysterious. As always, well composed, with elements that both harmonize and create tension (warm and cold, hard and soft, rough and smooth). Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted April 11, 2008 beautiful - finely crafted with the eye of an artist! Birds in the distance add something to the image. Link to comment
nadya r. 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Like the ocean! Is it PS (if it - well done! :)) or the ray of the sun was there? Link to comment

aginbyte 0 Posted April 11, 2008 ... somebody else compared it to a painting ... you've always got that touch. So beautiful, though, so perfect. Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted April 12, 2008 Roy: I've gravitated toward human-free scenes lately. Living in the city, solitude is a joy. Joseph T: I'm not sure how I became linked to a link, but thank God I'm unlinked. Or unhinged? Or off my rocker? Anyhow... Donna: This is an old shot when it was just Deb and I traveling around, drinking wine and looking at stuff. I had a bunch of the RAW files hanging around my hard-drive untouched. I didn't know how to do any PS back then, so most of the "finished" shots from that time are pretty horrible. This one I tinkered around with while recovering. By the way, to respond to your "germs" comment, most parents report being constantly sick when their kids start daycare. Little kids bring every bug home. I worked for ten years at a children's hospital and never got sick like I do now. And my wife, who has a Teflon immune system, is in the same sniffly, wheezy, febrile boat as I. R Rivera: Thanks so much! Diana: Hi. Your stuff lately is fantastic. Thanks. Mehmet: Thanks for your thoughts. Sally: Always nice to see your name. Inger: I love the ocean. Not getting in it, but standing at a safe distance.... Tim: Thanks for the comment on the shutter speed. Purely accidental. Joke: The sea does call to one's soul, doesn't it? PhoS: You're yanking my chain. I always feel bad when I delay saying thanks, and I never seem to have the time to do so. Thanks. Fred: Your reviews always add another level of appreciation. There's no dramatic statement or mission here. We're still longing for California. Tony: Thanks. The birds were my favorite part of the photo. Nadya: The sky is natural. A little darkened, but the beams of light were there. Thanks. Jack: Hopefully, I've built my house on this strip. Thanks. David: Thanks for your nice comment. Dennis: Thanks. Sometimes I get so lost in Photoshop trickery that I forget to work on actual photography. This was a flight into normalcy. I appreciate your comment. Alberto: Thanks always for your thoughts. skyjammer 0 Posted April 16, 2008 I hereby classify this image under "Elemental Eye Candy". Much drama abounds in this capture. Ominous skies, pounding waves, and toffee rock. Makes for a tasty serving to the eyes. Magnificent shot, buddy. Regards, -Ade Link to comment

deniselanterman 0 Posted April 22, 2008 Hi Jeff, a beautifully balanced image. Nature is a great artist. I love to paint skies and the sky in this photo is my favorite color. The slight purple tone of the foreground water is very effective with the gold/yellow of the rocks. P.S. Your comments are always thoughtful and a pleasure to receive. Cheers. Link to comment
