marie_delorage 0 Posted August 25, 2002 I love this image! There's a little bit of hair by the neck, though, that takes something away from the pure flesh of the picture. I'd edit it out. Amazing that you could get this photo before the fly moved. Link to comment
cnaan_liphshiz 0 Posted August 26, 2002 You could also argue the tuft of hair adds to the rotting-flesh effect. Link to comment
scott bulger 0 Posted August 29, 2002 I don't see the aesthetics, the commentary, or the composition that everyone else is seeing. To me it looks like an overcontrasty, blurry, picture of a fly on a shoulder. It's not macro, and it's not portrait. It's not aesthetic, it's not technically well done, it's not ironic.... Sometimes I think that people react to something because they think they are supposed to, looking for something that isn't really there. Oh wait, now I see it, the water drops on the shoulder form a profile of the virgin mary crying tears.... Link to comment
andys 0 Posted September 6, 2002 I quite like this image, though I'm not really convinced whether I should be looking at the fly or the shoulder. for me it could be improved by greater depth of field, I find the out of focus neck and trapezium muscle distracting. If I did this I would probably loose the fly too. If I kept the fly, I would probably crop in a bit closer and try to expose a bit more to get some detail in the fly. Link to comment
