Backlighting is very well executed, and you seem to have captured the magic moment between your subjects. At first I did not notice it, however, the white bar that starts from the beak is slightly distracting. I guess that can be easily fixed by burning.

This is why I take pictures. Just once I would like to capture a moment like this. There is nothing I can verbally add to this image. It speaks for itself. This is what its all about.

This is a great photo, the composition is awesome. I foresee the beak losing its definition w/o the white bar behind it... maybe. At any rate, how cute!!

beautiful photo. only thing that distracts me, is the white stripe in the background, behind the bird, but anyway, it's a very nice pic.

...is in more awe. Amazing moment. This is particularly nice. Could the horizontals be more horizontal? Maybe, but it wouldn't make this a better moment. Congrats!

The intensity of the boy's gaze and the nervous innocence look on the chick make this really special. The lighting and focus is perfect. I have a minor comment about the tilted background lines. I think leveling them by rotating and cropping slightly would better direct the "energy" flow. Right now the chick is "uphill" from the boy and the energy flows from the chick to the boy. If you straighten the lines, then the energy flows from the boy to the chick. I prefer the latter. This is a minor comment and I am probably not explaining my aesthetic sense in the best way, so take it FWIW.

I know you had no chance to do so, but judging what I see, I'd say just a bit more crisp, a bit more light on the boy's face, and the bench line straight would have been better - and that kind of shots do exist...:-)

Still, you did very well just to capture this rare moment. Regards.
