skyjammer 0 Posted April 7, 2008 An elegant B&W capture indeed, that carries an extremely high level of evocative content with it. Love the solitary tree, "dancing alone", as they say. Not sure what else I could add that's not already been said, so I'm left to succumb to my mind's eye. ;-) "I can almost feel the grassy hill beginning to slope slightly upwards beneath the soles of my Dr. Martens walkers, as I stroll parallel to the fence, with a soft wind wafting at right-angles to me, and across my face, from left to right. The sky warns of an impending deluge approaching. Still, I switch off my ipod and allow myself to be fully immersed in my surroundings for a few more minutes, before turning around for the long jaunt back home." As usual, maestro, a grand slam home run with this one. Awesome tones, with varying levels of contrast, from low, mid to high. This is the kind of image you blow up to 24 by 36 and hang up with pride. Best regards, -Ade Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted April 7, 2008 looks to me like you took this in some very hard light conditions given all that black in that tree and while I would have preferred some more detail it works, mostly because of that very good composition Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Beautiful, interesting contrast on the tree. Well done. Link to comment

sherle 0 Posted April 8, 2008 Hi Joseph, This is indeed a lovely composition, excellent for the imagination. It seems to me that the blacks on the tree are just a bit squashed giving that area of the image a flat (board quality) look. Still quite a nice image. .....Sherle Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted April 8, 2008 Nice b/w vertical composition. Good work, Joseph. Regards! Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted April 8, 2008 Very cool composition! That gnarly-looking tree is just priceless and really fits the scene well. Good black and white conversion too. Nicely seen and captured; and a wonderful tribute to one of our favorite photographers here on PN! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
