Joe, this is one beautiful black and white. Everything works, tonal ranges, DOF and a great subject to boot. Kudos for a great capture! 6/7 anon

This is just another example of why one has to get in line - a long one! - if one is going to leave a comment about one of your pics! But it's soooooo worth it!!! Joe, I just love the toning, combined sharp and soft contrast, razer sharpness, the lovely, wave-like texture of the grass, and the fabulous composition here. If anyone doesn't like this shot, send 'em to me... they definitely need their head examined! Warm regards, my friend. David.

Well almost all has been said, so I add "Sensational!" I think the winding fence really adds a lot to the image, providing a good leading line into the disappearing distant, B/W adds a dramatic effect. 7/7!

You created a good tension here. The grass is a blur, so all of our focus is on the tree, which looks strangely dead and alive at the same time. Well seen and done, Joe! :)

Great dedication Joseph, I am sure it is the most welcom gift. Awesome picture, epitomising simplicity and effective composition. The side lighting gives the tree a surreal ,a cosmic beauty. My best wishes and compliments, Chris

It doesn't get much better! How nice that you had this wonderful fence that is the "icing" on the whole scene. Very nice.

it's a great shot...the lone tree, stark naked against the landscape...i would imagine a color version wouldn't come close to depicting the power of this image...regards....David

Aesthetically, I would have liked a lighter version of this image (see my attachment). If you care for it, I will give you the techical details. But, this is rather a minor quibble.

Like I have said many times, art, to me, is an extension of the artist. The strength of this image is the expansiness of the space, which mirrors the expansiveness of the artist himself, who never tires of giving of himself.

The image itself is interesting in many ways. Thee is a fence, but it does not keep one out, but guides one along its path of endlessness, like a tour guide through the image. The tree is present, weathered and beaten, but standing tall and proud, reflecting the sunshine, but not hogging it to itself, letting it also fall on the grass.

Its an amazing shot, Joseph and a very powerful black and white composition. I specially love the light on the tree.

the tree looks alive, I mean it reminds me a person who wants to move and talk with the arms. Pardon my english. Excellent composition and b/w, I prefer this version. All the best my friend.
