Thanks Timo. Yes, the 6x7 is not really amenable to avian portraiture, no doubt about that. The focusing of the 400 Takumar is rather slow and, of course, the DOF in MF is nil. Still, I prefer to try to obtain a good result with this setup because of the ability to print so much larger than what most DSLRs will allow.

 

Being a glutton for punishment, I am also using my 4x5 outfit in this genre! The effort is not without problems, but the rewards are worth it. Regards.
