Dawn light on the rocks is a favourite subject. This is a 32 second exposure. The maximum

that I can take presently. I'm happy with the effect. Your comments are most welcome, as

always.

Really works well for me Jeff. I like to see the horizon, it seems to tell the whole story. Glad to see your able to take those longer exposures. It seems to me, the long exposure is one of your staples. Excellent image Jeff - Sean

You can rotate the photo about, more or less, 0,5 degrees to the left. Love the tones and the sweet light. Not your best but it is very calm and beautiful. Best regards.

Very pretty, though I find the presence of the long bar with people on it not so pleasant and not in line with the rest of the image's peacefulness.

Thanks for the feedback folks. That horizon issue reminds me why I shouldn't do this stuff late at night. It was 0.21 degrees out.

I accept that it isn't one of my best, but I like it for the softness. I also like the inclusion of the people in it, for a change. Here is the fisherman doing what he does in the beautiful place. There is even a photographer on the far right of the rock shelf. I didn't know that he was there until I opened up the image at 100%.

I love the detail of the rocks 'floating' on those braod washes of delicate colours. I like the space division given to the sky and the rest of the image. A very appealing image! best wishes ~ mike

Wonderful delicate colors and tones. I give you right that the fisherman is a nice element. With longer exposure, do you notice a shift towards warm color temperature ?

Thanks for the feedback, folks.

Carsten, I haven't noticed any tendency towards warmer colours with longer exposures. It could well happen but there are so many other elements at play with the warm light, wash effect of the longer exposure, my recently resolved red cast with the back etc. that I haven't noticed it.

Well, so far, Jeff, that's my favorite in this 2008 folder. Composition and motion recording are just fine. Imo, what's missing is something I did find in quite a few of my favorite pictures of yours: great light !

Lights and colors are subdued here, which is ok, but perhaps a little too "quiet" for my personal sense of drama. (Therefore wondering if pushing contrast a notch would help or hit a wall here... not sure...) Cheers.

Thanks Marc, it hasn't been a brilliant seascape year, so far. You are absolutely right about the light. It was OK but not great. I was just happy that I could get what I was after with the 32 second limitation. I have started experimenting with NDs lately, but it is early days yet.
