skyking 0 Posted August 21, 2002 Non EE's will just not understand... The coffee makes the subject multi-dimensional - not only is the old analog tool and the new digital logic represented, but the late nights and stress of either the job of making progress happen or of getting through college without sufficient cash to buy one of them newfangled calculators. I like this a lot. Link to comment
robert_gough 0 Posted August 22, 2002 Being an E.E. myself I was drawn to this picture but it looks a little flat and too staged (the eraser looks brand new and the coffee cup is full!). However I checked your portfolio and much prefer this one. Link to comment
kevin_schoedel 0 Posted August 24, 2002 Thanks for the comments.Tom, yes, that is exactly what I was aiming for. I'm very pleased it came through. Though since I'm just a programmer and not an EE (not to mention being born around the time this is set) it took me a couple evenings to produce a diagram that was reasonably appropriate and not anachronistic.Rob, I made about a dozen exposures of different sorts and liked these two best; like you I prefer the other one. The eraser was indeed new before I used it for the diagram, and in this picture I forgot to make sure that the worn corner showed. And the coffee cups I actually drink from would not even fit in the frame :-)I think I will eventually reshoot a few pictures like these, treating these as rough drafts, and will certainly take the comments into account.
