The Grand Canal

I had seen pictures taken from this very spot in magazines and online,

I tried to create my own individual image, not sure on how successful

i actually was though. all comments welcome :)

what appeals to me most, is the movements of boats and water as well as the cold/warm colour-contrast. What I don't like that much is the light on the left (the reddish flare included), it distracts the eye too much from the church, at least in my opinion. Also, I'm not sure whether I won't have cropped the image a bit at the right, so that the that the first big pole from the right side is more or less the edge of the picture. I hope it's not too much criticism, I just added the way I would give it a try, being my shot. Very good idea anyway, regards.
