try going black and white, increasing the contrast and simulating some grain... this would be just an experiment, but can turn out to be fairly interesting. I'd also use a different crop, so the road is not fading away in the center of a picture - perhaps removing 0.5-1" on the right would do.

The mystery, is the subject coming or going ? Very good image, if you started in photography in 2001 , you are catching on awfully fast !! I like your images !

Interesting image... I personally feel that the tree on the right and the man compete for attention. Have you tried simply cropping off the right side to just keep the left side in a perfect square ? I think that cropping in ths case will make for a good to very good shot. Why not try to upload the square version for comparison...? Cheers.
