keithostertag 0 Posted March 28, 2008 Hi Peter- I like this crop much better. In the other one (Katy No. 2) I didn't feel the space added much. Here the pose seems naturally relaxed, and the viewer isn't prompted to wonder how the figure is interacting with the space or what kind of narrative might be suggested. Here we are more drawn to the positioning of the hands, and the chin and neck. Also, I without the entire facial features the shot becomes more of a figure study rather than a portrait, in broad terms. Less personal, and more universal. The inclusion of the lips is sensual, rather than identifying (as the eyes would be). In some other people's shots I occasionally object to cropping the head off of the images of models, but somehow here it works quite well. IMHO. Regards, Keith. Link to comment
aanji 1 Posted March 28, 2008 I love the crop, with the contrast of curve on the right and triangulars on the left. nice contrast, too. Link to comment
