This is a candid shot I took during a studio session with some friends, the Large white thing on the left is a softbox. None of the lights where set up for this shot and the only reason I kept it is cause I really like the strong gemoetric shape the lightbox ads, and cause the guy in the photo is very agains't having his photo taken normally

I like the use of triangles in the composition. The softbox is so bright my eye was drawn there. I have two small things that would have helped. His left arm being cut off is a bit distracting and the item on the floor to his right also attracted my attention. As a "grab" shot during a session it is very interesting.

It's interesting how much the shadow he stands into contrasts with the bright softbox, but I think it might be reducing him too much to a second plane. Still, I like how the bright triangle on the right and the light from the left almost touch at the top.

i also find the softbox a bit distracting, but that could be corrected with some burning in in the darkroom.

His expression, the lighting and shadow on his face are wonderful, i`m rating this 9/9.

Oh btw - perfection is boring, so don`t take too seriously the softbox problem.

I to would like to se a little more separation of the model from the background and for a little less shadow on his face. I am still pondering the whole composition of triangles, I will post again when I have had time to really study this.
