Coldwater Ridge Visitor Centre

This was shot when I was still learning to use my dad's camera. I knew nothing about photography or scanning. This upload is kept for its historical value, since it is one of my earliest shots uploaded to photo.net. The image quality here is poor, I know. This was shot handheld and scanned from a print. Levelled, colour-balanced and perspective-corrected in PS. New version uploaded Mar 12, 2002.

I find the second building on the left distracting. Composing so that it was removed would strenghten the composition, IMO. In fact, cropping some of the dark, solid space at the bottom in general would help. Love the colors. Good concept.

I like the juxtaposition of the luminuous sky on the right and the cool blue sky on the left. However, there doesn't seem to be a central subject in the picture. Is the subject, the wonderful reflection on the right or the silhouete on the left? My eyes, bounces back and forth between the two areas.

In addition to the beautiful colors in the reflection, I like the juxtaposition of the modern building on the right with what looks to be an old church or schoolhouse. Very nice.

I've always liked this picture. The reflection via the window is spectacular. The setting sun really fired up the sky. Nice work.

I especially like the fact that you can see more of the sunset in the window than you can by looking towards the sky.

I think this is a case of a building getting in the way of a nice sunset shot. Perhaps a wider lens... but to me, the elements in this scene add up to a nice architectural shot. You had an interesting architectural design, killer lighting, and a workable focal length. Forget the sunset! There will be another one tomorrow. :)

What a play of forms, colors and light. And there's music too. People nowadays 'build' such images with 3D and 'terrain modelling' software. Congratulations!!
