heidrun_zywietz 0 Posted August 19, 2002 Excellent! Where did you catch that guy? Reminds me of the plaster fillings of antique corpses in Pompeii, where lava ashes let the shape of its victims preserve...So a meditating guru conserved for ages? Great representation, fine light&reflexes! Link to comment
tim_engel1 0 Posted August 19, 2002 this is a ceramic piece made by an artist when she was in art school, about 10 years ago. It has been in my yard for the past 6 years, or so. I photographed it on a table in my garage. It is sitting on seamless black paper, and was shot under photoflood lights (which I am just learning to use). the only thing that I have done to it otherwise is to turn it into a duotone image in Photoshop. I am glad you like it!! Link to comment
edan_lev_ari 0 Posted August 25, 2002 Nice photo. Perhasp you over exposed the stature a wee bit. Was it really that light a gray tone? Link to comment
tim_engel1 0 Posted August 25, 2002 I didn't adjust the contrast or brightness. The head area is a bit overexposed. I think it was the lighting - which this was really a test of. I am shooting a number of still lifes to get some lighting experience. I have only had a set of photofloods for a few months. Thanks for your comments.Tim Link to comment
rodolfo_bulla 0 Posted August 26, 2002 Tim, your works are fine but...contrast and brightness. Link to comment
giuseppe_miriello1 0 Posted August 27, 2002 i like your picture very much.. the statue itself is very expressive, i think u got it very well detailed too. i was wondering if u took it in a museum or u knew the author and got the permission to picture it. in the second case, would have been possible to put the image in a background so to enforce its expressivity? i like the pic very much anyway 8 / 8 thnx for sharing Link to comment
tim_engel1 0 Posted August 27, 2002 This ceramic statue (and the other like it in my portfolio) was made by a friend of mine when she was in Art School. She gave them to me, and they are in my yard.I photographed them on a table top with seamless paper in my garage. I am trying to learn about lighting. What sort of background did you have in mind??Thanks for you interest!Tim Link to comment
