heidrun_zywietz 0 Posted August 18, 2002 Fine bodyscape...excellent light&reflexes...and your perspective (without falling prey to obscenity) intelligently composed! Link to comment
ashley_hosten 0 Posted August 21, 2002 Michael, this is deeply impressive. You've managed to de-sex this image and humanise it in one go. The lazy, natural look is perfect. The exposure and composition are flawless. I'm giving this a "10". Her slightly dusty feet make the image even more beauteous and realistic. This has the same natural beauty as the famous image of Demi Moore [when heavily pregnant]. Fantastic. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted August 22, 2002 It is certainly unusual, but not in the right way imo. Here are the things that I don't find optimal in this image:1) The pose, simply because it is, to me, the contrary of elegance, while it can't be called natural and relaxed either.2) The fact that we mostly see the bottom of her feet isn't exactly appealing in any way. Nor interesting - at least to me of course.3) I doubt we needed so much floor in the foreground.4) The light, while it is ok, could be improved. I'd say that too many things are lit here, and the light doesn't contribute a great deal to emphasizing volumes (except on the rear), nor does it create any strong mood.Basically, an interesting idea, quite creative, but I think it misses its objective. Just an honest opinion. Regards. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 22, 2002 The dirty feets ,above all the one on the foreground ,is really untasteful. Can not see the beauty or originality of this photo. Maybe my fault....... Anna Link to comment
edward_white1 1 Posted August 22, 2002 What I would say, is that probably THE most cliche'd "ART" photographs is the "Nude" laying in some heap on a floor or a ground somewhere. It's been done..done..done..and there's very seldom any real relevations or original ways of looking at things. They often look like they fell off of a fifth floor balcony and this is how they were found on the sidewalk! Not at all celebrating the human form in a graceful way!(Look at a Mapplethorpe print and see what that is!) You COULD focus on the rear end and, do an Edward Weston green pepper treatment. Again..it's a rehash on something that's been done a million and one times. Do something for the FIRST time! Rule out what everybody else has done..do something out of YOUR head, make everybody emulate YOU! Link to comment
terrence_ward 0 Posted August 23, 2002 But it has been done. HOwever, you have recreated the concept beautifully. 10 for the asthetics... 5 for originality. Link to comment
axel-cordes 0 Posted August 23, 2002 I agree with Anna, the dirty feets shows a leak of attention. Link to comment
rich815 0 Posted August 25, 2002 Good idea, the body itself looks nice, I like the lighting too. The feet completely ruin it however. Dirty, wrinkly, too prominent. Ugh. Link to comment
navarra 0 Posted September 2, 2002 Well, I suppose the dirt on the feets is there because the photographer wanted to. Feels like the girl has been running from something for a long time and then finally collapsed exhausted on the floor. Link to comment
