Im not gunna lie thats one dam good long exposure. An exelent job killing your suroundings in the mirror by using low light, very cool custume. You dont see many angels wearing corsets anymore. Your subject did and amazing job of holding still, and your lighting and overexposure couldn't have been better. One question whut did u do to get the hot sparkling halo, I see it in the mirror so i know its not fake.

Jesus! What a shot! Man Critter this is probably the best shot I've seen you post so far. The second I saw it It immediately reminded me of the scene from Fritz Lang's Metropolis, when he brings the Maria Robot to life.

Just straight out awesome shot!

Wow, thank you both. The sparkling halo is from overexposing the rope light. The rope light is essentially little christmas lights strung inside a plastic tube. The starry effect is from each little point of light blowing out.

Oddly, the background turned out differently than I intended. My mirrors are covered in a layer of filmy grossness that in earlier experiments had turned out to be this washed out cloudy whiteness. For some reason, it didn't happen this time. All that highlighted were a few parts of my finger squiggles in the filmy muck.

I burned down the background slightly so the chaotic highlights of bookshelves, etc. matched the highlights on the mirror itself.

thanks again, critter

Love the high contrast, it gives the photograph a raw powerful emotion, if anything I find the halo just a little too bright...that's just me being picky though. Bravo! Excellent photo!

Walter- It's horribly contrived. Last I observed, halos are myth. But I like it. Thanks.for the thoughts.

Carlos - picky is what I submit it for. I like the burn of the rope light, but I'm not torn by your objection. I invite it. Thanks for being picky.

Critter...

I must admit I am not normally into "goth" or "fetish" art, (actually, I truly hate the fact that I just labeled your work...sorry about that!) but I love your work. Your protfolio is amazing. I find myself drawn to your work in a way I can't even explain to myself. I guess it's kind of like a train wreck, hey? I mean that in the most complementive way possible! Seriously, all of your work is very well thought out and even better executed. I truly hope I can learn from your work for it is pure art. BTW, this is one of my favorite shots of yours! The contrast, both physically and metaphorically is intense and awe inspiring. Keep it up and please keep posting! Enjoy being.
