Another fine addition to the series.What I like most about your capture in this case is the effect of the four legs and one arm on the floor. I do not see this so much as a women holding up a man as to the pair becoming a different creature altogether by combining into one form. As with the others in this series the lighting works very well, again the reflections on the floor fill out and add to the composition. The lighting director for this performance must have been very good... and of course the photographer also :)

Giving thought to David Seltzer's comment, it is interesting that we as an audience to your photos, but not having been audience to the entire dance, are left reading much into little.

Great point of the dance you captured. You are putting that slow shutter to good use as well. She must be a fairly strong woman, as she is supporting quite a bit of his weight; usually it is the other way around with the man supporting the woman. The lighting is excellent and you have captured their scream well.

Gord,Interesting point about them being one!Thanks for a nice evaluation. I'm aware as well that it is only a part of the dance, but the truth is that it was a part also in the show, and I take only what I connect to. If I will photo it again I will try to add more of the scenes.

Really love the movement and expressiveness of this piece. You've done a fantastic job of salvaging this one from so far away. The use of the surrounding darkness to frame the piece works exceedingly well, as does the focused light.

You're right Pnina, and it is more often than not they do. I hate when I use cliche's.

Ger, this is my interpretation... "life as a dance", but it is life first....

I dont know much about dance, but from an aesthetic viewpoint this photo is very well done. The dancers` pose and your choice of placement makes for a well balanced composition, and the lines cross the corners. Not sure about color, maybe I would prefer a B&W

I liked that series because I saw human life here.I try to convert many of my dance photos, but many as well I upload at last in colors, because colors are part of the show.

 

Here is a b/w version, do you think it is better?

Yes, Pnina, I would prefer the B&W. Because I think that color looks kind of mundane and deflects, adds nothing
