emaxxman 0 Posted March 1, 2001 It seems that the proportion of land to sky is off-balance. I find myselft wanting to see more of the mountain but at the same time not wanting give up the view of the sky as it is. I think part of it is the buildings that are so close to the bottom of the image leave me wanting to see more of the mountain. Link to comment
patanjali_parimi 0 Posted March 29, 2001 thong is right, there is too little of the castle/mountain. Otherwise a very nice picture. Link to comment
jim_none 0 Posted May 22, 2001 I agree with Thang also.... but, the castle isn't going anyhwere.... that sky doesn't look like that too often. Link to comment
christopher_phillips 0 Posted May 23, 2001 Perhaps if we like the sky, but want more mountain then a vertical composition may be in order? Link to comment
mike d. 0 Posted May 29, 2001 The sky is clearly the subject of this photo, and as such deserves the space you've given it. I'm surprised nobody has commented on the rainbow you captured, which is also an important element in the composition of this image. Overall I think the image stands well as it is. Beautiful. joachim_gerstl1 0 Posted June 4, 2001 A wonderful picture that looks more like a painting. Great work. The balance between sky and castle is perfect. http://members.chello.at/joachim.gerstl Link to comment
r_w 0 Posted June 9, 2001 The sky is wonderful the way it is. Even the grandest of man's structures cannot compete with the natural world at it's best, and this photograph seems to reflect this.Think of it in terms of the palace bowing before the grandeur of the sky. Any more palace might seem vulgar. Link to comment
abarak 0 Posted June 11, 2001 In my opinion at least ;-) I have the feeling that this could have been a great photo, but the lens is aimed too high into the sky. Especially considering the interesting landscape. (7/7) Link to comment
pawel oziemblowski 0 Posted June 12, 2001 I think it's a question of imagination. The sky is very dramatic and if we found it as a sign from heaven, composition would be OK. But if we are bound to earth (not religious, technical only) there will be too much sky.( I've forgotten about meteorologists they would like more sky also.) It is said that India is mysterious in many ways, so from this point of view composition is right, we see what is suppose to be mysterious. Furthermore did you notice that there is something below the lower edge which could probably destruct the composition. To avoid it and balance, the sky should be cropped what in turn would destroy the photo. So Santanu did his best. We've got to be aware that photos are taken in a real world not in virtual space. Probably many of you disagree with me and some will show photoshop processed pictures, but that won't change the matter. Link to comment
seanp 0 Posted July 6, 2001 The Sky Is The Photo. It shows (to me) the huge powerful beauty of Gods handy work and the small dwarft civilation we all live in. Good colorful picture, keep posting. Link to comment
charles_veale 0 Posted July 12, 2001 Sky good. It is the subject of the picture after all. Link to comment
jerry_johanson1 0 Posted August 2, 2001 The sky would have looked very boring without the land. The photo almost reaches there, but not quite because the land barely comes in. I would have used a 135mm instead, or an 85mm shot vertically. Nice mood though. Link to comment
john_nagle 0 Posted September 26, 2001 Of course all the "TEKKIES" would say unbalanced ....but we who like to "LOOK" at photos would disagree. One could even say, spiritualy speaking, it is certainly in proportion, as the man made structure is dwarfed by Gods. Link to comment
