Jack_Maegli 1 Posted March 13, 2008 Try belly crawling up to an opossum foraging in the snow and stick a lens in it's face 6 inches away and this is what you get Link to comment
WJT 650 Posted March 13, 2008 Jack, this guy is strangely compelling to me in his ferocity. I'm going to try to be more like him tomorrow! Your POV is perfect. Regards. Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted March 13, 2008 Is this one used to humans like the coon is? I can't imagine being able to crawl up to a wild possum, and then on top of that, not have him immediately run off. Kudos, even if he is partially tame. I do think it would be a little better if you cropped to just below the twig. Link to comment
scordova 0 Posted March 13, 2008 Nice portrait of a wild animal. The winter background is perfect for the creature's coloring. Still have all your fingers I hope. Like it a lot. Link to comment
WJT 650 Posted March 13, 2008 Yes, I agree with Scott about a slight crop. Good thought. I hope you get some good ratings; this one deserves to be seen. Regards. Link to comment
matman1975 0 Posted March 13, 2008 Ugly subject...beautiful photo! The angle of view plus the frame filling image make all the difference!Greetings from Greece Link to comment
Jack_Maegli 1 Posted March 14, 2008 For the comments and suggestion of crop. A 4:5 ratio would put the eyes in a very aesthetic position; I'll give it a try. I will have to admit he was getting a bit nippy with me and holding the camera steady at the relatively small aperture for depth of field and consequent slow shutter speed didn?t make things any easier. But overall a very cooperative subject that deserves more credit for the shot than the photographer! Link to comment
