mg 0 Posted August 17, 2002 I tried cropping here or there, but nothing works better to me... And the colors and water texture are really wonderful. Congrats. Link to comment
miles_hecker 0 Posted August 17, 2002 Your nicest shot to date. Good use of a square compostion. Link to comment
detlef 6 Posted August 18, 2002 I can see one way of maybe improving this...diagonal waterfall...???maybe???...but as is this is still amazing...and you got 2 thumbs up from Marc...wow!!! Link to comment
luisfe_rojas 0 Posted August 19, 2002 ONE OF THE MOST IMPRESSIVE AND EYECATCHING PICTURES OF WATERFALLS I'VE EVER SEEN. CONGRATS! Link to comment
pernel_s._thyseldew 0 Posted August 20, 2002 VERY *N*I*C*E* SHOT! Darn close to ART! No improvement needed... Go shoot a whole series of these, then share your technique with us. Link to comment
akbar 0 Posted August 20, 2002 Very nicely done! Great colors and composition. The flowing lines of the water, the green of the algae and the blurred water on the right are all perfectly in balance. You might try cropping the top of the picture - my eyes follow the center of the photograph from bottom up and get stuck on the green patch on the upper right corner. I find that broken green there a little distracting, but thats just my personal opinion. Have you tried any variations of this - eg. with the water line (that is now at the center) at a diagonal (like a previous poster suggested)? Great job - look forward to seeing more of your images. andrewhemstrought 0 Posted August 24, 2002 I disagree with the crop top suggestion. That upper right corner is where you want to be. Zanado.. Well done. Link to comment
galan 0 Posted August 26, 2002 In retrospect to a comment suggesting the cropping of the green in the upper right... I would not do this nor suggest it as in doing so you would create dead space below this anchoring element thereby creating a need to crop the right side as well to bring attention to other elements in this masterfully composed image. This image is a perfectly composed square format and needs that point of focus to keep the viewer's eye from wandering off the right... it pulls me up then sends me crashing into the hydrofoil only to bring me back up once again. Beautiful, simple and thematic. Bravo. Link to comment
bryan_zouiden1 0 Posted August 28, 2002 Yes we all want to know your technique on this one. Link to comment
vuyisich 0 Posted August 29, 2002 There is no special technique here. I was walking along this creek and noticed that the water was in the shade, but the opposite bank was sunlit and green, hence the reflection in the water is green. That is all. Thanks for all the comments. Link to comment
trevor_hopkins 0 Posted September 4, 2002 The technique may be a well-trodden path, but along with the framing and colours the image you've arrived at is outstanding. Well done. Link to comment
