I see no sloppiness in your PS work but I did not see where you started so I cannot be a good judge. If anything, the yellow colors seem a bit wrong for me in this image. My suggestion is: If you are having trouble with correcting colors then go for a black and white image instead. Many of the PN viewers prefer b&w over color anyway.

Ahh, now that I view it larger I can clearly see the PS work you are speaking of. That type of work is very difficult to do well and should only be attempted when one has a very contrasting background.
