i like this shot... capturing the guy looking at his phone(or whatever it is) gives it a little humor in my opinion ... the colors and dof are done well too... only question is the street and horizontal lines on the building make the street look slanted, or like it's going downhill???

Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for your comments. This is a bit difficult setting as the street is indeed slightly sloping down. Now if I correct the building upright the flower pots in front will lean very much to the left, giving impression that they will fall on their side any time soon.

The scene is one of the quiet side streets and only a step away from very busy restaurant and cafeteria area in the old city of Beirut, Lebanon. The man, possibly a shopkeeper, is looking at his mobile phone and searching for a number while the messenger boy awaits for his instructions.

However, what prompted me to take this picture were the three show windows which have such a perfect colour to match with the surrounding set and available light. It is all classic, style and peace and a few days afterwards the hell broke out close to this spot and Lebanon was in fire again.

What a shame,

Mauno
