je.barreto1 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Impressive! The sky is wonderful, no doubt, but the dry ground is also marvelous!... Very good! Love the tonality!... Best regards. Link to comment
corbin 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Great use of "cold" toning. The sky is great, but the ground is pretty good too. Link to comment
jefvandenhoute 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Strong monochrome image, with amazing tone rendering. The composition and the rendering of the structure in the ground are amazing Link to comment
vidisorin 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Besides all the good words that have been said already I would have 2 things 2 say: I find it way too drastic and inestetically split in half, guess the repeated pattern on the ground could be cropped and leave more sky inside the frame...close to 2/3.... Second...an "anchor" point in the foreground would be needed ...I imagine there was nothing there...but you could manage smtng on the spot....a foulard or smtng... ;-) Best regards Link to comment
glaucodattini 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Very beautiful vertical composition and rich details. Best regards. Glauco Link to comment
tomas kaspar 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Sorin you are right. Composition could be moved up, or down or sideways. As a matter of fact I have several more images with different comps. As for the FG interest. I think that the cracks in mud are strong enough, and actually anything else would distract from them, so I must respectfully disagree with you there. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Bravo! I wouldn't change a thing; the foreground interest is perfect, and the sky is sublime! Where was this taken? Beautiful work, Tomas! Cheers! Chris Link to comment

carl_stephens2 0 Posted March 10, 2008 I always enjoy viewing your images. I can't see how this can be improved! Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted March 11, 2008 Simply put, it is a wonderful, elegant image. It has wonderful tones and texture. Above there was a discussion of cropping. I would have probably cropped bit off the top and a tiny bit off the right, but sometimes we get too obsessed with our aesthetic rules. I think the image stands quite nicely as is, and it may just be stronger because it does not exactly conform to what is expected. I think the image is more about the competing textures. But, what do I know. In any case, nicely done. Dan Link to comment
sackheim 0 Posted March 13, 2008 Taking a departure from the purely technical, what effects me is the drama, and visual foreboding you've managed to create with this image. The endless task of crossing the dry baron desert, an imminent storm on the horizon. Beyond the beautiful composition and textures, there is some very effective storytelling. going on here. Cheers. May I ask where you shot this? Link to comment
ben_thomas5 0 Posted March 15, 2008 Really like the clouds, was this shot near the Racetrack in Death Valley? Link to comment
jana 1 Posted April 13, 2008 This is a surreal image conveying the end of the world. The subtle absence of colours is amazing . Tomas, You are welcome to have a look at my images from the TSOATSOA land (where time ends and space begins or the other way..) (folders desertscapes, dunes, tsoatsoa etc.) ahoj Jana Link to comment
lightchaser 0 Posted January 15, 2009 Powerfully tranquil. Ever so strong in composition. Bravo! Link to comment
