I didn't realize that the reflection was added until I read it. Good work... one thing, to be really picky, is that you may want to remove the corridor lights from the reflection: given the perspective from the camera position, they cannot be there. But impossible reflections and art do mix well (see "A bar at the Folies-Bergeres" by Eduard Manet) so I guess it is ok. Nice, evocative shot...

I rather like this shot. It draws the veiwer into the image-who is the girl, where is she going, what is she thinking about etc. I also like the composition and warm 'tungsten-like' colour cast as this adds to the atmosphere. My only gripe is that the black top the girl is wearing needs a bit of detail and shape. Apart from that, this is a well concieved and executed shot that provokes thought in the veiwer! Well done

IMHO, I woudl expose this shot +1 more stop then what you have currently just to give the girl a little more details. I woudl also zoom in a little bit more nad give it a tigher crop, because that may help to convey her facial features more clearly and force the view to look at her face.

The white relfection in the window can be a little less intense, try using a polariser, but don't polarise out all the reflected light (because I guess you intended reflection to be there.

really nice and natural portrait. i would prefer it without the reflection added. her expression does not look like she is look at herself, but rather out into the distance. the photo becomes less pure the more digital manipulation you do.

Your composition is nice--evocative of many different emotions. This will touch different viewers in different ways, and the reflection adds a great deal to that feeling.

However, on a technical level this photo is lacking. It needs sharpness, and a tungsten-balanced film might create a proper color balance. I find the weird lighting on Thalys and ICE trains just doesn't work well for natural photos--but a Tungsten-balanced film could help this.

Did you use a polarizer? It gives you much better control over relfactive surfaces. I'm curious as to the effect on the viewer when the windon has a full reflection.

Overall, a nice job.

I think it came out good as it is. By not having too much sharpness it gave it a dreamy look, a little dark too. Perfect moment, very original.

I like the rain agaainst the window, her pose and expression, but the skin tones are too red, and I find them distracting that way. Maybe you can lessen the red a bit.

Lots of good points: nice story telling, romantic and dreamy image and beautiful model.

However, IMHO, some other points distract the viewer and should be corrected, such as: excessive softness of the model's face (did you scanned from the print?, if yes, try scanning from the negative), lack of details on the black sweater and reflexion of the backgroung cutting the reflexion of the model's face on the window.

Can you re-shoot this one?

Thanks for the constructive comments everyone. At the time I took this picture, I was just starting off with photography, so I didn't know about polarizers and other technical tidbits yet. I just wanted to capture the dreamy look and atmosphere. Anyway, comments are helping me out a lot, so keep posting them please. Cheers.
