abintraphoto 0 Posted March 7, 2008 I was visiting fellow Photo.netter Vincent Tylor - his *better half* took us to this place - Thank you *MT* .... (-; I was hoping for a fiery Hawaiian sunset that Vince had *promised* - but it didn't happen - so I made the best of it ...... more to come from Kauai. Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted March 8, 2008 Looks just like the gulf when taken like this(with shadows). Beautiful shot Ken. Would love to be anywhere near some water. We had snow and ice today, crazy weather! -J Link to comment

lbattjes 0 Posted March 8, 2008 This is actually better than another fiery sunset IMO...The silhouetted pier and the soft colors and glistening beach all add up to an interesting and beautiful shot. Makes me want to be there...looks peaceful...my kind of day...especially with a cup of yummy coffee in my hands...just sayin' L Link to comment

sheryl_w__blue_mt._ 0 Posted March 10, 2008 ... my fav part of the Image is the Reflection of the dock/pier in the pooling tide... I also love the angle of the shot....Ken, it reminds me of Keywest, a place I'm sure you'ere familar with... I had a job offer in Hawaii once upon a time, but decide the cost of living was more reasaonable for me in Florida.....my aunt lived on the islands for a while... great weather I hear..... sippin a cold Heiniken walking down this pier would be nice...I love this kind of place... great shot... thanks for sharing....all the best Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted March 13, 2008 Hi Sher - well I took wayyy too many shots of this - so you may see a few more - great weather yes - shorts and sandals in January is the way to go ...... (-; Link to comment
vincetylor 0 Posted March 13, 2008 Underexposed, blurry, poor composition, no colors and very boring to look at. I've seen better photos than this from six year olds. Maybe you should take some lessons somewhere Mr. Ken. I cannot even look at this much longer without getting bored and sleepy. To see some really nice Hawaiian photos, just go here: http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=232970 Sorry if the truth hurts, but life is like this. Oh, I forgot, And one more thing.... Just kidding. : ) Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted March 13, 2008 Well I had a good teacher - Vince's WIFE took us to this spot - obviously the BRAINS behind the business - lol .... As a matter of fact she is one of the people out on the pier - she'll probably want a 'modeling' fee with a little encouragement from Vinny - sheesh .... All kidding aside we had a wonderful visit - walking down the beach with Vince - explaining f-stops to him - 3 times(!?) - priceless ......... tryingnottolaugh. Actually at one point we were standing on a lava flow on the beach - and were almost washed out to sea by a rogue wave ... ! ... the last time I saw Vince move that fast - well I've never seen Vince move that fast - didn't think he could! As for Mr. Tylor's attached link - it speaks for itself - of the 1000's images I took during 17 days in Hawaii (this is the part where I suck up hoping for free lodging at Vinny's place next time) - only a handful of them come close to matching his work - and most of those I haven't posted yet. I highly recommend you czech out Vince's link (more sucking up) - it's fabulous ... And email that fricking pic we took - you know - the Mai Tai's and sushi .. ! Link to comment

LenMarriott 9 Posted March 26, 2008 Ken, Though you didn't get the sunset you were hoping for I think you did just fine with the rest of the elements that you could control. Excellent positioning of the sun between the horizon and pier, and that semi-circle of water in the foreground shows you were paying attention to that part of the composition. Gets more than a passing grade from me. ('course my standards aren't up to VKT's). :-) Best, LM. Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted March 31, 2008 I like this a lot. . there are so many things that are right with this image. . great perspective, visual interest, subtle changes in tone and texture, and beautiful lighting. Well done, cowboy. Link to comment
j_m_lee_photography 0 Posted April 1, 2008 I love your composition and enjoy the sunset under the bridge. The semi-circle of water in the foreground make this image a bonus. :0)) Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted April 1, 2008 Spencer - you knailed it - the waves were the only thing changing - so I was focused on especially that - I'm hoping I have several more from this shoot that stand out for exactly the reason you mentioned - thank you Friend (-; .... Donna I walked back and forth for 30-40 minutes during this sunset - changing the perspective as you mentioned - your visits are especially appreciated - thanks Yankee - (-; Link to comment
