roger_tan 0 Posted August 23, 2002 Gerry, this is a great shot, like the composition, it is very inviting...wish I could go for a dip, but I guess it must be pretty cold... :-) rdgs, Roger Link to comment
tom grubbe 0 Posted September 17, 2002 I've been to Yosemite many times but never made it here. Some nice puffy clouds would have been nice in order to cast their shadows on this rather contrasty scene. But your composition is terrific, very well balanced. Link to comment
dmadden51 0 Posted October 22, 2002 Very nice. Nothing distracting in the picture at all. Lighting it pleasant and draws the eye to the whole picture. Link to comment
peter_anderson 0 Posted October 22, 2002 been done before. i like it, and it is pretty, but photos like this mean much more to the person standing there than somebody who has never been, yet has seen thousands like it. try to make it more unique next time, but take one like this for yourself! gerry_clarke 0 Posted October 23, 2002 Thanks for your comment Peter, I did not put this photo up for originality I put it up because to show that with a little walking you can post a common photo that presents itself from a different angle or using different composition. It is to encourage others while in the park to try to get a different photo of their own. Everyone post his or her photos from the Tunnel View of Yosemite Valley a very common and easy photo to take, no walking or effort involved except driving into the park. Yet I have seen a number of Tunnel View photos presented here at Photo Net that our quite unique. Link to comment
gerry_clarke 0 Posted October 24, 2002 No problem constructive criticism is appreciated much more than ratings, as ratings are somewhat arbitrary here. I think much more of a rating with a comment than I do one with out a comment, especially when you consider the numbers of people who will leave a low rating and not take any time to explain why, which is counter productive and serves no purpose. I try to leave a note at least with all of my ratings, and if I do not appreciate a photo I usually try to leave constructive criticism and a rate in the comment box only. My thinking is when I do not appreciate a photo is that there are things I may not know about the photograph, and in order for this site to work the criticism must be documented constructively. So thanks for your comment Doug and keep enjoying the park I know I will. Link to comment
