the mind to see that the horse is so hungry and standing in such filth and yet has a blanket on.

 

These people should be prosecuted.

Anyone that has had experience with livestock knows that an animal will do anything and everything in its power to get the last bit of grass on the other side of the fence, even if it is well fed. This horse has a well muscled neck, a thick full coat, smooth and solid looking ridge free hooves, and does not have a sunken thin looking face or body. The fact that it happens to be muddy in that particular area of the pasture means little, and the owner has even put a coat on this animal to keep it from rolling in the mud and becoming encrusted with filth, which horses actually love to do. Although I like this photo, I had to comment on the nature in which it was presented because it has clearly been blown well out of proportion. If you have ever seen a truely neglected horse you would realize that this animal appears to be in good health.
