... the thrust up from the columns to the transverse arch is nice. What is really interesting, though, is the wooden vaulting, and how it derives its supports from the narrow engaged column rising up from the piers. With such a light roof, they could afford to open up the clerestory windows as much as they have. The result is lots of light. Very nice view of the arcade as well. Final benefit of the angle is how we can see the wooden vault in the side aisle and in the arcade too. Very well done.
