rachelfoster 0 Posted February 26, 2008 I like this a great deal! It tells a story, the simplicity is soothing, and I could look at it for hours. The only thing that *might* improve it is framing the prints at a diagonal. Then again, maybe not. Well done! Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted February 26, 2008 The dog is coming and going. I like that. Nicely composed. A simple picture with a multi-tiered narrative. Warm regards, Joe Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Rachel - It could be rotated to put the path diagonal, but I think it would have to have been shot that way to really work. Still, an interesting idea, and I'm really glad this falls so gently on your eyes.Joe - You've just helped me understand something about how pictures can tell stories that I hadn't grasped before. Very helpful! Warm regards, David Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted March 2, 2008 I love the mystery. Your choice to frame this with only the one human track is what puts this one up another notch. Nice how the coming and going of the left side tracks travel the same route. Some one is a creature of habit :) I love to go out in the bush the day after a fresh snow fall and follow all of the stories left behind in the form of tracks in the snow. Although I do not think I have ever posted any on PN I love collecting up these winter dramas. Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted March 2, 2008 Glad you like this one and certainly not surprised that you have a collection of similar shots! Love to see 'em. I'm fascinated by how critters get into established routes, with or without snow, and I love how they usually place their feet so symmetrically, like the joining of the coming and going tracks in several places. The placement is so precise they almost look like one footprint, albeit with a most unusual foot facing both ways! ;-) . Link to comment
rachelfoster 0 Posted March 20, 2008 When I return to an image and I like it as well or better on subsequent viewings, I know it's a very special image. This one fits that nicely. Link to comment
